Water Parameters:

• Temperature: 70–80°F (21–27°C)

• pH: 6.5–7.5

• GH (General Hardness): 6–8 dGH

• KH (Carbonate Hardness): 2–5 dKH

• Ammonia/Nitrite: 0 ppm

• Nitrate: <20 ppm

• TDS: 150–250 ppm

Tank Requirements:

• Minimum Tank Size: 10 gallons

• Filtration: Gentle flow, sponge filters ideal

• Substrate: Fine gravel or sand; plants and driftwood recommended

• Lighting: Moderate (to support plant/algae growth)

Diet:

• Primarily algae eaters, but benefit from varied diet:

  • Blanched vegetables (zucchini, spinach)

  • Algae wafers

  • Shrimp pellets

  • Biofilm and detritus

Behavior & Care:

• Peaceful and active scavengers

• Great for algae control

• Sensitive to copper (avoid medications with copper)

• Acclimate slowly to avoid shock

• Require stable, clean water

Tankmates:

• Ideal: Small, peaceful fish like:
